THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Who is the light of the world? True, in John 9:5, Jesus said, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world”. But in Mathew 5:14-16, he said: “ye are the light of the world”

A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid, neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and glorify your father which is in heaven.

Notice when Jesus said, “I am the light of the world”, He was talking about doing a miracle; about doing the work of God. Then he also said that, we are the light of the world and we are to let our light shine. 

HOW DOES OUR LIGHT SHINE

How does our light shine? When we do the works of him that sent us! Then his will and his works are manifested in the lives of others. Where there used to be deafness as the will of Satan, now there is hearing. It is the will of God. Where there used to be blindness as the will of Satan, now there is sight. It is the will of God.

So Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works”. These good works are the result of His power. They are done by us to give him glory.

When Jesus said, “i must do” he wasn’t doing the miracle as God but He was doing the miracle as a man anointed by the Holy spirit. The man Christ Jesus was saying, “in order for the will and the work of God to be in that man, “I must do it”. The man Jesus was saying, “i must work in order for people to see the power of God”.
